Lee Coleman was born in Scunthorpe in 1971. In his mid teenage years he appeared in a number of productions for the local Youth Theatre and when he was sixteen one of his fellow cast members decided to leave and move to Liverpool, so, as a parting gift, Lee drew a picture and has been drawing and doodling ever since.

In 2008 Lee submitted two pieces of work featuring his creation “Mr Faceless” to the open exhibition at the 20-21 Visual Arts Centre in Scunthorpe. Both pieces were accepted into the exhibition and one piece, Despair, was highly acclaimed coming fourth in over three hundred entries.

Subsequently Lee secured his debut solo exhibition at 20-21 between March and May 2010, entitled Memoirs Of Mr Faceless. The idea of Mr Faceless is to capture emotional or challenging scenarios without revealing the facial expression, using body language and location alone. Lee works on mountboard and chooses a mixed media of ink, pencil crayon and acrylic.

When he is not providing Mr Faceless with new experiences, Lee also likes to produce work depicting his passion for scooters. He works full time as a paramedic and also enjoys playing acoustic guitar, cinema and riding his much loved Vespa.
